Klaus Pohl (actor)

Klaus Pohl ( born November 1, 1883 in Vienna, † November 28, 1958 in Garsten ) was an Austrian actor.

Life

The son of a merchant, attended the grammar school and graduated from high school. He studied in Vienna, first at the Institute of Technology, then painting at the Art Academy.

In 1907, he opted for the acting, from 1908, he was on stage in 1909 and entered his first engagement at the Stadttheater of Landshut, where he served as secretary at the same time. Then he came, including Munich, Salzburg and Berlin used occasionally as a theater director. In Berlin, Pohl was shown, among others at the Berlin theater and at the Deutsches Theater.

After he had already appeared in numerous silent films, he became even more engaged in sound films since the early 1930s as a supporting actor. The rather slender and inconspicuous actor embodied in the German movie this time marginal figures of all kinds as the postman in Goodbye, Franziska, bookseller in Attention! The enemy is listening and a gnome in the three Codonas. Its certainly important film role came in 1929 as a rocket engineer Prof. Manfeldt in Fritz Lang's future drama Lady in the Moon.
