Klaus Scholder

Klaus Scholder ( born January 12, 1930 in Erlangen, † April 10, 1985 in Tübingen) was a Protestant theologian and professor of church history at the University of Tübingen.

Life and career

Klaus was the son of Erlanger Professor of Inorganic Chemistry Rudolf Scholder ( 1896-1973 ). After high school he studied at the Protestant Foundation in Tübingen and at the University of Göttingen German literature and theology. After graduation and ordination to the Protestant pastor, he was from 1956 to 1958 employees of the FDP parliamentary group. In 1958 he entered the service of the Württemberg State Church and was first parish administrator in Bad Ueberkingen; In 1959 he moved to the Evangelical pin in Tübingen. After his habilitation, he worked as a lecturer at the University of Tübingen and received in 1968 a professor of church order. His chair was succeeded in 1987 Joachim Mehlhausen.

His main point was the church struggle, about which he called " The Churches and the Third Reich " wrote the first two volumes of the commonly used today standard work.

Party

Scholder occurred while influenced by Karl Georg Pfleiderer, 1954, the FDP / DVP. He was instrumental in the cultural and religious political statements of "Berlin Programme " of the FDP in 1957. In the late 1960s he was briefly chairman of the FDP / DVP District Association of Tübingen. In the 1970s, Scholder was Deputy Chairman of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation.
