Klazomenai (Greek Κλαζομεναί, Turkish Kilizman ) was an ancient city in Ionia (Asia Minor). She lay on the northern side of the Isthmus of Teos and approximately 36 kilometers west of the present city of İzmir, the former Smyrna, near the town of Urla in the Turkish province of Izmir.

Klazomenai was founded in 654 BC, starting from the colophon of Ionians. In the 5th century BC the place to better protect was moved to a coastal barrier island, which was later joined by a causeway to the mainland. A named after Mimas ridge separated the city from Erythrai. Klazomenai was the birthplace of Vorsokratikers Anaxagoras ( 499-428 BC), known in particular for his work On the Nature, and the Sophists Skopelianos, the end of the 1st century AD lived.

Excavations among others Attic pottery and the so-called Kore of Klazomenai, the torso of a female statue to days. The Klazomenian sarcophagi were a specialty of the potters of the city.
