Klein Bikes

Klein is a bicycle manufacturer from Waterloo, Wisconsin ( USA), which produces high-priced mountain bikes in the first place. The company is since 1995 part of the bicycle manufacturer Trek, which also includes the brand Gary Fisher, Villiger and diamond belong.

History

The company's founder, Gary Klein, he is one of the pioneers of mountain bike boom in the USA in the 1970s and 1980s.

Based on his experience designed to light, stiff and therefore very fast mountain bikes with detailed solutions that repeatedly set standards, especially in the frame construction.

1995 Klein was sold to the bicycle manufacturer Trek - to allegedly use to the distribution network of Trek. As a result, disappeared in the following years of economic aspects of almost all essential and innovative design details. The available as of this date cheaper models such as " Pulse" or " Stage" are no longer interesting for collectors. The quality of the bikes fell sharply, Klein is now only one among many manufacturers and no special features.

In 2002, Klein engaged in professional cycling and was outfitter of the German team Gerolsteiner.
