Klein Modellbahn

The Company Miniature Railway GesmbH was an Austrian manufacturer of model railways. The company was founded in 1984 by Oskar Klein junior due to a division of the company small train. The headquarters and manufacturing were in Vienna, Atzgersdorf. The company was dissolved in 2010.

Product spectrum

The product range includes locomotives and rolling stock in nominal size H0 ( track width 16.5 mm ) for the two-wire direct current system and model railroad accessories. Certain initially item from the product range of the original company small train, which were more designed for rugged play mode, the program, it was quickly started with the production of fine detailed models for the "serious" model railroaders. Since the new company is primarily oriented on the Austrian market, models are preferably implemented on the model of Austrian railways. Models

Decline

The manufacturer came, like the Austrian manufacturer also Roco 2006 financial hardships. By moving to a new production facility and by streamlining the model range, however, the survival seemed assured until further notice. End of May 2008, the Company issued but unexpectedly announced a permanent end to production in July 2008 and to close the shops from October 2008 until the end of 2008 at the latest. Parts of the program will be continued by Roco. The remaining business in Vienna was developed as a specialty store and offered to other foreign products. On 11 December 2010, the company said on its website that "the small model railway Ges.mbH is set in the next few days their operation forever due to legal problems with the company ( Roco ) model railway Ges.mbH ".

Future

Mag Oskar Klein founded 2010 KkMB magazine as a sole proprietorship, which now continues the business in Vienna. In the future, the focus is on trade goods of the era I ( models after KkStB - model ).
