Kleines Wiesental

Small meadow valley ( Alemannisch Chlais Wiisedal ) is a municipality in the district of Lörrach in Baden- Württemberg, which resulted from the merger of the previously independent municipalities Bürchau, Elbenschwand, Neuenweg, Raich, Sallneck, Tegernau, meadow and Wieslet on 1 January 2009.

Geography

The new community is located in the extreme southwest of the Black Forest. The municipal area extends from the southern slope of the Ballon to the mouth of the Little in the Big Meadow.

History

Originally, the valley was divided into ten municipalities. In the early 1970s the two southernmost communities Langenau_ ( Schopfheim ) and sink stone could be eingemeinden during the municipal reorganization in Baden-Württemberg in the city Schopfheim. The other eight municipalities merged in Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Small meadow valley. With populations of 166-657 they were among the smallest in terms of population independent municipalities in Baden -Württemberg and were to perform their duties on subsidies from the state budget dependent.

After the announcement of the Government Presidium Freiburg to grant these so-called needs of communities in 2010 to no more subsidies to offset the administrative budgets, merging the eight municipalities was considered as a way out of impending financial problems.

In a civil hearing on July 6, 2008 spoke out in the eight communities with low voter turnout, 87 percent of voters for the establishment of a unified community of. On 8 October 2008 was followed by the municipal councils of the eight communities this vote and sealed the merger on January 1, 2009. The signing took place on 21 October 2008, at the same time the resolution of the local government association has been decided.

Election of the first mayor

On 5 April 2009, the first round of voting was held for mayoral election. With a turnout of 73 % Gerd Schön bed received 44.7 % of the valid votes, Gerhard Wagner 35.9 %, 15.6% and Sonja Berger Erwin Schlageter 3.5%. Coat of arms

The new municipality Small meadow valley does not yet have a coat of arms. However, all previous churches held their own coat of arms.
