Kleineutersdorf

Kleineutersdorf is a municipality in the south of the Saale- wood - country circuit and part of the joint management Southern Saale valley.

Geography

Kleineutersdorf located right side of the hall about 2 km upstream from Kahla Middle Saaletal opposite Großeutersdorf.

History

Kleineutersdorf was 1349/50 was first mentioned as Windisch - Eudisdorf, which means Wendish ( Sorbian = ) Grosseutersdorf because Wendish settlers were involved in the 12th and 13th centuries in the later Kleineutersdorf villages corridor on land clearing and cultivation process. After the defeat of the peasants under Thomas Müntzer of Frankenhausen 1525 the Anabaptists remained for a long time connected to the beliefs of their leader. A Augsburger Baptist in 1527 occurred in the Saale villages against the new church order. He is said to have baptized the Müller Hans Peißker. Until 1535 the village was a center of the Anabaptist movement. On November 20 of the year 16 Anabaptists were arrested. Three of them have in the interrogations, where Philipp Melanchthon was present, no withdraw their beliefs. Among them was the Kleineutersdorf villages Müller. They were beheaded on January 26 in Jena.

  • Village church ( position → 50.78604113555611.575974226111 ) St. Peter and Paul, was demolished in 1831 the branch church of Großeutersdorf. With the demolition material the nave church has been rebuilt with recessed choir tower in Kleineutersdorf. The upper part of the tower is plastered, probably to an underlying timber to protect it from the weather. Strikingly high arched windows illuminate the nave. The organ was delivered in 1834 by Jena organ builder, it was 1988/89 completely refurbished. The church was to 1859 equipped with a pulpit altar and a three-sided, two-story loft on the sides until the second galleries and pulpit altar dismantled and the present altar was erected. Five carved figures of two late Gothic altarpieces are obtained. Two of them are the patron saints of the church, Peter and Paul. A written around 1420 statue " Madonna and Child " of the type the Beautiful Madonna is now in the Thuringian Museum in Eisenach.
