Kleßen-Görne

Geography

Kleßen - Görne is located about 70 km north- west of Berlin and 15 km north-east of Rathenow; south of the lowlands of Rhinluches, between up to 77 meters above sea level. NN high ridge Ländchen Friesack and the south located Great Havelländisches main channel. Near the local part of the Kleßen Kleßener lake with a small campsite in Görne the Gorner lake in the same nature reserve.

In the township the districts Kleßen and Görne with the inhabited part of municipality Dickte and the living space Gorner consist mill.

History

The municipality was created on 31 December 2002 from the voluntary merger of the previously independent municipalities Görne and Kleßen and had at the time 456 inhabitants.

Kleßen was already mentioned in 1280 as Cletzin. From 1352 to 1872 the place belonged to the Counts von Bredow. Görne was mentioned in 1353 as a lake to Gorns. Received its current name of the place 1669th

In the list of monuments in Kleßen - Görne are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg monuments.

  • Manor Kleßen 1723 baroque built by the family von Bredow, 1858 Classicist style. Since mid-1990 the manor is restored. On the associated farmyard is a water tower. The " märkische Gutsgarten " was re-created in 1999 and can be visited.
  • Toy Museum in the Havel country Schulstraße 1 in the old village school, important collection of historic toys, many from the former toy factories in the city of Brandenburg such as Ernst Paul Lehmann, OROBR or Lineol, large collection of railways in particular Marklin, as well as extensive collection of antique dolls, dollhouses and shops.
  • Kleßen Church, originally a timber-framed building from 1698. Facilities include a wooden Baptism of 1607 and a letter of gallery with coats of arms and inscriptions. 1717 was the church organ. The west tower was built in 1886 of brick, the church in 1913 fundamentally renewed and executed as stucco building.
  • Manor Görne 1786 built by Christoph Philipp Gerhard von Bredow.
  • Görne village church, a rectangular timber-framed building from 1728 with verbrettertem tower, which was built in 1740.
