Kleszczele

Kleszczele [ klɛʂt ͡ʂɛlɛ ] is a town in Poland, in the Podlaskie Voivodship. It is the seat of the homonymous urban and rural community in the powiat Hajnowski.

Geography

Geographical Location

The city is located in eastern Poland, about ten kilometers from the border with Belarus, on the upper reaches of the river Nurzec.

History

The first mention of today's Kleszczele dates from the 15th century. City was chartered in 1523 by Sigismund I the place until the 16th century all the inhabitants of Volhynia and so there was at that time two Orthodox churches were. 1777 there was a great fire in which only 13 of the 181 houses were spared. Until 1794, the number of houses had increased to 270. In the third partition of Poland the place came in 1795 with the Kingdom of Prussia. After the Peace of Tilsit was Kleszczele part of Russia. In 1873, the connection to the rail network. After the end of World War I, the town was part of the revived Poland. During the Second World War, the occupation was carried out by the German Wehrmacht. On July 20, 1944, the 65th Army of the Belorussian Front took the city and the place was again part of Poland. 1950 Kleszczele lost its city charter. In 1993 the town was granted city rights again.

Incorporations

On the initiative of Queen Bona Sforza 1533 the villages of Dobra Voda, Babicze - Kuzawa, Trubianka, Nurzec - Czeremcha and Kośna - Daszewicze have been incorporated to Kleszczele.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Through the city's main road leads 66 ( droga Krajowa 66). This leads after about twelve miles in a southeasterly direction to the border crossing to Belarus. After 25 kilometers to the north, the road passes through Bielsko Podlaski where it bends to the west. Furthermore, the voivodship road begins in Kleszczele 685 ( droga wojewódzka 685 ) direction leads to the northeast after Hajnówka. The voivodship road 693 also starts in the city and leads to the southwest. It opens after 35 kilometers in Siemiatycze 19th in the country road

There are bus services to Białystok, Bielsko Podlaski and Hajnówka.

The city is connected to the rail network. There is a direct connection to Bialystok Bielsko about Podlaski. Hajnówka Siedlce and can be reached via a switch in the seven kilometers south Czeremcha.

The nearest international airport is the Frederic Chopin Airport Warsaw, which is located 170 kilometers to the west.
