Kleve, Steinburg

Kleve is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the districts of Kleve and Rahde, also lie the goods Krummendiek and Kleve in the community.

Geography and transport

Kleve is situated about 8 km west of Itzehoe. Bekau, mill creek and hedgehogs flow through the community.

History

1480, the village was first mentioned in a document. Since 1864 Kleve is self-employed as municipality. The name of Cleves derived from cliff that forms the Geestrand for deeper Wilstermarsch.

Incorporations

On 1 January 1978, until then independent municipality Rahde was incorporated. Its name derives probably ago by clearing space.

Policy

Coat of arms

The "coat of arms " of the community is not writable and thus no heraldic coat of arms in the proper sense, but assign the picture seals. It was chosen after World War II in the absence of official seals, which are free of Nazi and imperial symbols of the community and is still used today.
