Klewenalp

The Klewenalp is a hiking or winter sports area if Beck Ried in the canton of Nidwalden. The area has a road access to the private motor vehicle traffic and can be reached from Lucerne in 15 minutes on the A2 motorway. The Klewenalp lies at 1600 meters above Lake Lucerne. Despite the relatively low elevation above sea level, the area is very snow- sure. The Klewenalp Beckenried is a cable car that holds 80 people, or of Emmetten- floor hut accessible. Four plants are operated in summer.

In winter, the Klewenalp houses with floor hut a ski resort with 13 plants and two slopes to Beckenried Emmetten. The gondola between Emmetten and Stöckhütte was opened on 22 December 2007. In a start-up phase thus can be transported per hour 800 people. In particular, on peak days of the return of the skier to Emmetten or pelvic Ried is possible. Thus, the capacities are expanded and reduced waiting times. The ski area extends to about 2000 m up ( mountain station chairlift Chälen ).
