Klingenthal is a village in the Vosges, the politically belongs to the municipalities Bœrsch and Ottrott. The department of roads D426 and D214 touch the village.

History

1730 at the request of King Louis XV. under the direction of Henri Anthès a manufactory for bare arms on a site of the Grand Chapitre of Strasbourg established on the creek Ehn. It created a forging hammer, grinding as well as accommodation and workshops for the workers. The knowledge for the production was betrayed by factory workers from Solingen, who were the first workers. Initially, the blades with Manufacture Royale d'Alsace, and later signed with Klingenthal. The weapons factory led to growth and prosperity until the mid 19th century. After the withdrawal of the weapons production Coulaux the family took over the factory and produced mainly agricultural equipment, such as scythes and sickles. 1962 had to be discontinued the production
