Geography
Geographical Location
Klobikau between Halle ( Saale) and Erfurt am Geiseltalsee. In the south of the village was mined for centuries lignite. The produced stockpile Klobikau, a tailings pond with an area of over 300 hectares and a height of 218 meters is rehabilitated and designated as a recreation area. On the heap is a 15 meter high observation tower.

History
For the first time the city was mentioned as Cloboco in the resulting 880-899 Hersfeld tithe directory.
On 1 July 1950, the community emerged from the formerly independent places Niederklobikau and Oberklobikau.
Since 1 January 2008, the formerly independent municipality Klobikau is a district of Bad Lauchstaedt.
