Klöch (Slovenian Klek ), the "Pearl of the South East Styrian wine country ", is a market town with 1231 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district or Bad Radkersburg District Southeastern Styria, about nine kilometers north of Bad Radkersburg.

Since 1965, the community Klöch is composed of the towns Kloch, German Haselsdorf, Gruisla, Pölten and Klöchberg.

Blazon: ". In silver and red split sign a five-petalled rose in reversed colors " This coat of arms already led the Wolf Auer as lords of Kloch.

The community Klöch leads this coat of arms since 1959.

Culture and sights

Klöcher Winzerzug

Every five years ( most recently in 2008 ) takes place in the Winzerzug Kloch. Numerous elaborate floats decorated with old traditions invite you to join in the celebrations. Usually, the grape harvest is celebrated and then the Klöcher press hard.

Specialty

Special acquaintance reached the wine village Klöch by the wine and became the namesake of the Klöcher wine route. A Europe-wide awareness has, in particular, the Klöcher Traminer reached, the " wine with the scent of the rose ".

Economy

The place is also known by the Klöcher basalt, which is used mainly in the base of train tracks.
