The monastery dike weather is a grave water system in Uetersen in the district of Pinneberg.

Course

The monastery dike weather originates in the city of Uetersen near the highway 431 ( to the monastery coupling ) and runs south through the historic Deichwiesen the monastery paddocks. This lead other smaller tributaries and drainage ditches, from the west and north in the weather. This also dehydrate the only one meter above sea level located meadows. Before straightening and diking the Pinnau this grave system was repeatedly important for Einwässerung the low-lying Deichwiesen, as the present city center and the monastery Uetersen of a dam (now Kastianienallee ) was protected. Only protected by the dam occurred in the great flood of 1412, the floods of Christmas 1717 and October 7, 1756 meter high floods of the former place, and dozens of people flielen the water to the victims.
