Pass with chapel

The Klostertaler Gscheid is 764 m above sea level. A. high mountain pass in southern Lower Austria, which the northeast of it located Kloster (municipality Good stone ) to the south-west to Voisbachtal (municipality Schwarzau in the mountains) connects. The Gscheid separates the good Steiner Alps in the north of the Rax -Schneeberg Group in the south.

At the summit there is a small chapel. About the Pass leads the paved country road L134. The road runs from northeast to southwest along the northern slopes of the snow mountain. To the west and east of the pass, there are opportunities for advancement to the snow mountain. Because of the sparse population of the region and the location away from major routes through the pass has only local significance and a weak travel demand. Therefore, it is popular with motorcyclists. There is no winter lock, the passport is revoked only in extremely rare occurring extreme situations due to avalanche danger.
