Kemet is the Egyptian name for Egypt, meaning Black (country ), thus the fertile farmland in the Nile valley and delta is meant.

The term Kemet derived from the Nile flood, flushed the fertile Nile mud of dark, almost black color in the flood area. Sank the water level again, he left a large area that was covered by the fertile Nile mud, thus forming an excellent foundation for the rich food supply and the rise of the Egyptian Empire.

The term Kemet for the Black Country is set with the antonym Descheret for Red Land in contrast. The Red Land was the reddish-yellow desert landscape outside of the Nile Valley.
