Knattspyrnufélag Fjallabyggðar

KS Fjallabyggðar is an Icelandic football club. The club from Fjallabyggð whose predecessor club played several years in the Friendly Tournament, currently compete in the second-rate 1 deild karla.

History

Leiftur

The club was founded in 1931 rose in the 1987 Friendly Tournament, but could not hold the class. After a seventh place in 1989, the team had in 1990 relegated to the third division. There succeeded with eleven wins in 18 games, the team of direct comeback and was able to lay down in the second division in the front area. 1994 managed to return to the first division, where the team played until 2000. During this time, succeeded three times the third place in the league. In addition, the team moved in 1998 into a cup final, that was indeed lost to champion ÍB Vestmannaeyja 0-2, yet they reached so that the participation in the UEFA Cup 1999/2000. There, the club failed in the qualifying round by two defeats at RSC Anderlecht.

After the end of the second division season, the club put its football team, together with the football club from Dalvik and you stepped henceforth as Leiftur / Dalvik. Even with bundled forces remained from the success and in 2003 the team was relegated again from the third league. Two years later joined the team there too the season on a relegation from. Then, the gaming community has been solved and Leiftur joined with the second division relegated KS composed of Siglufjörður.

KS

Knattspyrnufélag Siglufjarða played for years unterklassig. Afterwards, KS merged with Leiftur.

KS / Leiftur

KS Fjallabyggðar
