There are two versions of Knick Knack, both of which have both been published in 2D and 3D. The original version was first shown at SIGGRAPH 1988 in 3D and 2D on the Tiny Toy Stories -VHS cassette. As a supporting film of Finding Nemo a digitally revised version was published in 2003, in the breasts of the female main characters were significantly reduced and the mermaid wearing a bikini top made of shells instead of the original starfish pasties. John Lasseter attributed this to his responsibility as a father. A 3D version of the new version can be found on the Disney Digital 3-D release of The Nightmare Before Christmas in the year 2006.
