Knights of the Hare

The Order of the Knights hares (English Knights of the Hare ) was an English secular orders of knighthood. He belongs to the curious order and was allegedly in 1338 by King Edward III. donated.

In a battle during the Hundred Years War, the British were under Edward III. and the French under the leadership of Philippe de Valois opposite. From the ranks of the French, a hare fled to the battlefield. From the French, which was accompanied by a loud roar. On the English side we took this as a sign of attack. Then there proclaimed the Lord of Hainault fourteen men to knights. However, the attack failed to materialize and the Knights were called then hare knight. A permanent Order of that name, however, it has probably not given.
