Knock Hall Castle is a ruined castle near Newburgh in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

History

The castle was built in 1565 by Lord Sinclair of Newburgh at the mouth of the River Ythan as a residential tower. In the 17th century it came into the possession of Clan Udny, the Knock Castle Hall in 1634 referred. In 1639 the castle was damaged when it was taken by the Earl Marischal for the Covenanters. This occupation, however, was limited, so that the Burgs went back to the Clan Udny. This inhabited Hall Knock Castle until its destruction by fire in 1734. The clan moved back to its original seat of power Udny Castle, Knock Castle Hall was finally on.
