Knut Kircher

Knut Kircher ( born February 2, 1969) is a German football referee.

Life

Kircher studied after graduating from the University of Albstadt -Sigmaringen engineering. An engineering graduate, lives in Rottenburg, is married and father of three children. His main job is working at Daimler AG and, besides lectures.

Football

Kircher is referee of the TSV Hirschau, since 1997 DFB referee since 1998 and the second league referee.

Since the 2001/2002 season, he is referee in the Bundesliga, 2004, he was FIFA referee. His Bundesliga debut he celebrated on September 8, 2001 at the home game against TSV 1860 Munich 1 FC Nuremberg. The first senior international match under his leadership was the World Cup qualifying match between Andorra and Romania. The high point of his career was the referee DFB Cup Final 2008 between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich ( 1:2 aet). On July 23, 2011, he also led the game in Gelsenkirchen Veltins- Arena to the Supercup 2011 between Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund.

On 25 May 2012, the DFB announced that Kircher was voted Referee of the Year in 2012.

On August 17, 2012 it was announced that Kircher, alongside Michael Weiner, voluntarily for the end of 2012 as a FIFA referee. As the successor to both Christian and Tobias Welz Dingert were nominated.
