Knutstorp Castle

Castle Knutstorp (Danish Knudstrup ) is a manor house in the southern Swedish community Svalöv. The castle is located in the countryside Skåne ( Skåne län) near Landskrona.

Knutstorp was an estate since the mid-14th century. At the end of the Middle Ages it came into the possession of the Danish noble family Brahe, who owned it until 1663. The astronomer Tycho Brahe was born on 14 December 1546.

Since then, it belonged to the members of the noble families Tott and Anckarstjerna. The castle was sold in 1771 to Count Fredrik Georg Karl Hans Wachtmeister, whose family still owns it today.

The buildings date from the mid-16th century, fire came in 1678 and 1956.

Near the property there is the ring Knutstorp, a well-known Swedish motorsport track.
