Ko Sichang District
Koh Sichang ( Thai: อำเภอ เกาะสีชัง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province ( Changwat ) Chonburi. It consists mainly of the island ( Ko) Sichang in the Gulf of Thailand, about 12 km off the west coast of Amphoe Si Racha.
History
The island was originally a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) of Mueang district of Samut Prakan province. On January 1, 1943, he was assigned to the Si Racha district of the province of Chonburi. On 4 July 1994 Ko Sichang got the full Amphoe status.
Management
The district consists of only a single commune ( tambon) Tha Thewa Wong ( ท่า เทว วงษ์ ), further in 7 communities ( Muban ) is divided. The entire district Ko Sichang has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon).
