Kobyletska Poliana

Kobylezka Polyana (Ukrainian Кобилецька Поляна; Russian Кобылецкая Поляна / Kobylezkaja Polyana, Slovak Kobylecká Polana / Kabolecká Polyana / Polana Kobilská, Hungarian Gyertyánliget or older Kabola Polyana, Romanian Poiana Cobilei ) is an urban-type settlement in the Western Ukraine ( Transcarpathian Oblast, Rajon Rakhov ) about 36 kilometers by road west of the city Rakhov.

The approximately 3400 inhabitants place is surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains in the valley of the river Schopurka ( Шопурка ), which is created through the confluence of Mala Schopurka and Serednja.

History

The village was mentioned in 1672 for the first time in writing as Kabola Polyana.

1910, of the Kingdom of Hungary in the county Máramaros lying place 1,832 inhabitants, who divided on the ethnic groups of the Ruthenians, Hungarians and Germans. After the end of World War 1 he came to the newly created Czechoslovakia (as part of the Carpathian Ukraine) and was ceded to the end of the second world war to the USSR. In 1971, the place obtained the status of an urban-type settlement.
