Koen Daerden

Koen Daerden ( born March 8, 1982 in Tongeren ) is a Belgian footballer who plays for MVV Maastricht in the Dutch Eerste Divisie. He is the son of football player Jos Daerden.

Playing career

Koen Daerden comes from the youth of the largest teams of his hometown, the SC Tongeren. In 1999, the talented midfielder has been committed by the Belgian top team KRC Genk. Though he came in his first pro season, only two scoreless inserts, but he already won his first title - the Belgian Cup. In the following years he became a regular player and was a mainstay in the team of KRC, which took the championship in 2002.

In the summer of 2006, he announced his move to the Champions League hopefuls FC Bruges. With Bruges he could win in 2007 for the second time in his career, the Belgian Cup. His move to Standard Liege was announced on January 15, 2010. There, however, he could not prevail, and was mostly just a substitute. It was awarded to the league rivals St. Truiden VV For the season 2011/12, but has been with the club at season's end Table. After half a year Vereinslosigkeit Daerden was contracted by Dutch second division club MVV Maastricht on 28 January 2013.

Between 2002 and 2007 he completed ten caps for the Belgian national team, scoring three goals.
