Koen de Kort

Koen de Kort ( born September 8, 1982 in Gouda) is a Dutch racing cyclist.

Career

Koen de Kort began his career in 2002 at Rabobank TT3, the junior team of the professional team. In the late summer of 2003 he went with Rabobank as a stagiaire, not made ​​the leap into the professional business, however, and remained for another year in the smaller team.

In 2004, he managed finally his breakthrough. He won at the U23 discharge of Paris-Roubaix and won the pair time trial Grand Prix Eddy Merckx with Thomas Dekker. Despite the good season he again got no professional contract in the ProTour team. For a contract with the Spanish team Liberty Seguros - Würth by Manolo Saiz, he was taught. At the Tour de l' Avenir, he was able to win a stage. De Kort is a good time trialist, he is strong on cobblestones and he can keep up in mass sprints to some extent.
