Koen Verweij

Koen Verweij ( born August 26, 1990 in Alkmaar ) is a Dutch speed skater and inline speed skaters. He began at the age of eight years with the speed skating.

Verweij is initially successful than inline speed skaters. He won two bronze medals at the 2007 Junior World Championships in Cali.

Later he focused more and more on the speed skating and can achieve international success there as well. At the World Championships 2012 in Heerenveen Verweij wins with Sven Kramer and Jan Blokhuijsen the gold medal in the team pursuit. 2013 the team was able to successfully defend his title in the same occupation.

Verweij lives and trains in Heerenveen.
