Edition models

Koenigsegg Edition presented three models, these are the Koenigsegg CCX Edition and the CCXR Koenigsegg Koenigsegg CCXR Edition and the Special Edition. Moreover, these are stronger versions of the two standard vehicles CCX and CCXR. In addition, all three editions have a clear lacquered carbon fiber bodywork.

Special

The Koenigsegg CC8S broke the McLaren F1 with 388 km / h from as the fastest street-legal production car in the Guinness Book of World Records. In early 2005 he was with a top speed of 390 km / h officially the fastest road- legal car in the world. This record was set on the Pista di Nardo circular in Italy.

In a crash test in the Swedish Autoliv crash test center of the Koenigsegg CC8S cut despite its lightweight construction as one of the safest of all vehicles ever tested there.

Body

The Koenigsegg cars have a carbon composite chassis, the front area a steel frame and an aluminum frame in the rear. The entire body is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic ( CFRP).

The bodies of the CCR CC8S and differ only in details from each other. The differences lie mainly in the area of the rear lights and the headlights. The vehicle has a so-called Targa roof that can be removed and placed in 120 liters of luggage space. The doors are a mixture of normal vehicle doors and scissor doors. Remove when opening first from the body and then swing it upwards, thus they are in the open position vertically behind the front wheels.

The drag coefficient of the body is 0.297, the front surface is 1,825 square meters.

Koenigsegg granted a ten-year warranty on corrosion, although there is hardly any part in this vehicle, thanks to the materials used, which could rust.

Interior

The CFRP shell seats have covers made of leather, Alcantara, and are padded with the model developed by NASA Tempur material that adjusts to the body shape.

Motor

The engine in the Koenigsegg CC8S based on a 4.7-liter V8 racing engine from Ford and is increased by supercharging in performance. The engine of the CCR and CCX was developed in -house, but has the same data as the Ford engine, with the exception that this is charged by two compressors. The use of aluminum alloys from the aerospace, materials such as titanium and carbon fiber engine weight was reduced to 210 kg ( CCR 215 kg).

The engine of the CCXR is designed for the use of ethanol as fuel, thus achieving higher performance than the nearly identical CCX.

Specifications

Transmission

The Koenigsegg was fitted as standard with a manual six-speed transaxle gearbox by Cima (only according to the definition in the English language a transaxle ). As an extra, a sequential switching mechanism is available. However, the sequential gearbox (F1 Gearbox ) is on the Koenigsegg website now specified as standard.

Performance
