Koenraad Dillen

Koenraad Francine Gaston ( Koen ) Dillen ( born November 6, 1964 in Mortsel ) is a Belgian right-wing politicians in the party Vlaams Belang. From 2003 to 2009 he was a member of the European Parliament.

Life

Dillen is a qualified translator (1987) and worked as a French teacher from 1989 to 1990. He then worked until 1992 as an account executive at Rank Xerox. From 1991 to 1994 Dillen was an administrative secretary in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and from 1994 to 2003 official.

2003 Dillen was elected to the European Parliament. He was a member of the group Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty, which was disbanded in November 2007, and since then non-attached. He also was a member of the Development Committee, the Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly and the delegation to the ACP -EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. After the 2009 European elections Dillen resigned from the European Parliament.

In 2009, Dillen published under the pseudonym Vincent Gounod a biography of François Mitterrand. Previously, he had written a book about Nicolas Sarkozy already under the pseudonym Maarten van der Roest.

Dillen is the son Karel Dillens, the founder of the party Vlaams Blok, which broke up in November 2004 after the conviction by the Belgian Court of Appeal and as Vlaams Belang newly founded. His sister Marijke Dillen is also active for the Vlaams Belang.
