Koffi Olomide

Antoine Agbepa Mumba ( born August 13, 1956 in Leopoldville ), also known as Koffi Olomide, is a singer from the Congo.

Life

Olomide was born the son of a Congolese father and a mother from Sierra -Leone. During his childhood, Koffi Olomide dreamed of becoming a footballer. As a musician, he first met during his studies in business administration, which he completed in Paris, in appearance. In 1978 he made ​​his first recordings during his holiday residence in Kinshasa.

In 1983, he released his first CD Ngounda. Three years later Olomide was already chief of the group Quartier Latin, which became world famous later. In 1994 he was voted the best singer ( Africa Music Awards) and won the award for the best clip (Album V12). Also in Europe Olomidé fills the largest halls, such as the Zenith in Paris.
