KOI7

KOI7 ( Russian " Код Обмена Информацией, 7 бит " = " Code for Information Interchange, 7-bit " ) was a ajar to ASCII 7 - bit character set for the representation of the Russian language, which uses the Cyrillic alphabet.

The character set KOI7 existed in two versions. The one model only covered the Latin and Cyrillic capital letter, as only 128 code positions are available in a 7- bit character set available. The second variant worked with a mode switching, with which the terminal could be switched between Latin and Cyrillic letters.
