Kolleram

Region

Kolleram (also: Koleram ) is a rural municipality in the Department Mirriah in Niger.

Geography

Kolleram lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Gaffati in the north, Mirriah in the northeast, Gouna in the southeast, Dogo in the southwest and the regional capital of Zinder in the West. The municipality is divided into 13 administrative villages and eight hamlets. The main town of the rural community is Kolleram consisting of the administrative villages Dakoleram Dama and Dakoleram Djibji.

History

Kolleram was in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform as a separate rural municipality in the canton of Babban Tapki (also: Babantapki ) dissolved out. Its main town Babban Tapki fell by the municipality composite Zinder.

Population

At the 2001 census Kolleram had 18 526 inhabitants. For the year 2010 25.154 inhabitants were calculated.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipality is located in a zone is operated in the rain-fed agriculture. Through the municipality runs in an east -west direction along the national road 1, which connects Kolleram with neighboring cities Mirriah and Zinder.
