Kollmar

Kollmar is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Kollmar is about 8 km west of Elmshorn directly on the Elbe River in the Krempermarsch. To the northeast the federal highway 431 runs from Elmshorn city of happiness.

History

Kollmar was mentioned in a document in 1377 for the first time as a parish to parish Asvlet. Asvlet was Kollmar from elbwärts and went under in the floods of the Elbe. The parish was in 1393 the last time mentioned.

Hans von Ahlefeldt acquired in 1494 Haseldorfer march, which included the then also Seestermühe and Kollmar. The Ahlefeldts remained until 1626 owned by Kollmar. You could build the Oevelgönne Castle in 1586. The architect was the Italians Franz de Rocha. 1815, the dilapidated castle was demolished.

1657/58, the town was almost completely destroyed by Swedish mercenaries.
