The Cologne Literature Prize is awarded since 1990 eV irregularly by the friends of Cologne Literature Prize. Under the Articles of Association to the awarding of the prize stadtkölnische writings and media productions or literature that Cologne has to issue to be considered. It may be narrative texts (novels, short stories ), or to non-fiction to song lyrics or plays to movies or features in high German or Cologne dialect. The winner will receive one with his name subscribed owl, the symbol of wisdom and writer, presents. They would also be a first prize of 5,000 German marks, now connected to 2,500 euros.
