Colossus of Rhodes is a Greek basketball team, which is located on the island of Rhodes. Colossus is currently playing in the A1 Ethniki, the first Greek league.

History

The club was founded in 1963 and initially operated sports such as athletics, volleyball and cycling. The early 1980s was also offered judo. With time, however, lost the individual departments in importance. Today, the whole focus of the club is on the basketball department.

The geographical remoteness and the limited financial resources were for the club over the years no special role in the Greek basketball are taking. Although the club has won a number of regional tournaments, outside of the Dodecanese but hardly anyone took advantage of Colossus. However, this changed in 1976.
