Kolymvari (Greek Κολυμβάρι (n. sg. ) ) Is a town and a district of the municipality of Platanias on the island of Crete. By 2010 Kolymvari was also an independent municipality with (2001) 5,114 inhabitants, since 1997 after incorporations as a municipality ( dimos ). On 1 January 2011, this community was incorporated after Platanias, where she has since formed a district.

Kolymvari houses since October 1968, the Orthodox Academy of Crete.
