Kong Linghui

Kong Linghui (Chinese孔 令 辉/孔 令 辉, Pinyin Kǒng Linghui; born October 18, 1975 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese table tennis player.

Career

At the age of 7 he began with the intense table tennis training. In 1994, he was inducted into the Chinese national team. In the same year he joined the German Bundesliga, where he played in 1994/95 for TTC Jülich and 1995/96 for TTF Ochsenhausen. He then moved to Italy to Libertas Alfaterna. In 1999 he returned to Germany for TTF Bad Honnef. However, in January 2000, went out his eligibility to play in Germany because he joined a Chinese club.

His greatest successes:

In early 2006, he became coach of the Chinese national team in October 2006, he ended his career. In 2012, he was the successor of Shi Zhihao as head coach of the Chinese women's national team.

In 2010 he was inducted into the ITTF Hall of Fame.

Achievements

In the finals Kong / Liu also against two Chinese, Wang Liqin and Yan Sen

  • 2nd place in the men's singles at the WTTC 2001 in Osaka ( JPN). In the final, played Kong against Wang Liqin.

History: Kong has already led 2-0 when Wang turned the game. In the end, Wang sat with 21:13 through the 5th set.

  • 2nd place in the Men's World Cup in 2002 in China. In the final, Kong lost to the currently best German table tennis player Timo Boll with 1:4 sets.
  • 3rd place in the men's singles at the WTTC 2003 in Paris. In the semifinals Kong lost to eventual champion Werner Schlager in seven sets. The seventh sentence ended 12:14 from Kong's point of view.
  • 1st place in the Men's Doubles ( with Wang Hao ) at the WTTC 2005 in Shanghai. In the final, the two Chinese defeated the two German Timo Boll and Christian Süss with 1:4.

Private

Kong Linghui is a lateral descendant in the 76 generation of the philosopher Confucius. From 2002 to 2013 lived Kong Linghui together with the Chinese actress Ma Su.
