Kongsberg Gruppen

The Kongsberg Group ( Kongsberg Gruppen ) is the largest Norwegian defense company. Other parts of the company provide sensors, navigation systems, and remote forth both sea - and land use. Among the best known products include the remote control weapon station of the Stryker wheeled armored vehicle - ( Protector M151 ) and anti-ship missiles Naval Strike Missile.

History

The company dates back to the Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk (KV) of 1814. After 1987 was uncovered that Kongsberg has sold jointly with Toshiba in the 1970s, machine tools to the Soviet Union - then a violation of the CoCom guidelines - the company under the name Norsk Forsvarsteknologi (NFT ) was refounded. In 1993, the IPO, in 1995 the present name was adopted.
