Kongsberg Jazzfestival

Kongsberg Jazz Festival is a music festival that takes place annually since 1964 in Kongsberg ( Buskerud ) and it has a strong focus on jazz. It is next to the Jazz Festival in Oslo and Molde Jazz Festival is the most important Norwegian. It takes place in early July.

The festival was originally organized by the Jazz Club Jazz Evidence, but has become independent quickly. Today, the festival is organized as a foundation. When Kongsberg Jazz Festival also free jazz and other improvised music directions are represented.

DnB NOR prisen

In cooperation with the banking DnB NOR is a price of 100,000 kronor ( € 12,500 ) ( 2011-300000 crowns) awarded to the most outstanding Norwegian jazz artist of the year.
