Konkona Sen Sharma

Konkona Sen Sharma ( Bengali: কঙ্কনা সেন শর্মা, Kankana Sen Sarma; born December 3, 1979 in Kolkata, West Bengal ) is an Indian actress.

Biography

Konkona Sen Sharma comes from a Bengali family, who has worked in the film industry. Her grandfather Chidananda Dasgupta is a film critic, author and one of the founders of the Calcutta Film Society, her mother is actress and director Aparna Sen.

Your actual film debut was in 2000 in Ek The Aachhe Kanya, before she entered only sporadically as a child actress. After an appearance in a film by Rituparno Ghosh was a wide audience known for her role in Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (2002) under the direction of her mother. Sen Sharma plays a young Tamil woman who rescues a strange her Muslim Hindu fanatics before, by issuing him as her husband. Her acting performance earned her a National Film Award for Best Actress. The subsequent films Page 3 and 15 Park Avenue her again won critical acclaim and awards. In 15 Park Avenue, she plays a schizophrenic woman, the role of their caring sister took over Shabana Azmi. Her breakthrough, even in German-speaking, she obtained in 2007 with a starring role in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag - The journey of a woman on the side of Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Anupam Kher.

Beginning of 2007, Konkona Sen Sharma was honored for her supporting role in Omkara (2006) with a Filmfare Award. Her most recent starring role she played in Traffic Signal (2007).

Since September 3, 2010, she is married to her co-star Ranvir Shorey. On 15 March 2011 she gave birth to a son in South Mumbai hospital.
