Konoe Nobuhiro

Konoe Nobuhiro (Japanese近卫 信 寻; outdated romanization: Konoye Nobuhiro; * 1599, † 1649), was from 1623 to 1629 Kampaku ( Regent ) for the go- Mizunoo - Tennō.

Journey

Konoe Nobuhiro was the fourth son of Go - Yozei Tennō. The Tennō designated him as heir to the calligrapher Konoe Nobutada (近卫 信 尹), who adopted him.

His career began at the imperial court in 1620 with the direct survey on the " Chancellor of the left" ( Sadaijin ). 1623 appointment as Kampaku ( Regent ) for Go- Mizunoo. A position from which he resigned in 1629. He is also known as a painter and lover of the tea ceremony. In 1645 he became a monk under the name Ozan (応 山).

His son Konoe Hisatsugu (近卫 尚 嗣) died age of 32 as regent. Of the two children born later entered the clerical state, Kanshun (1648-1682 ;寛 俊) and a daughter who entered the Hokke -ji. Another younger daughter married Tokugawa Mitsukuni (徳 川 光 圀; 1628-1700 ).
