Konrad Bollstatter

Konrad Boll Statter, also called Konrad Müller, (c. 1420/30 in Oettingen in Bayern, † 1482 /83, Augsburg) was a professional writer.

His father was Konrad Müller ( the Elder. ) From a writer Deininger family, possibly an illegitimate descendant of the noble lords of Boll down instead (who died before the end of 1440). He was a chancery clerk of the Counts of Oettingen.

Boll Statter began his career as a clerk in the office of the Counts of Oettingen ( occupied 1446-1453 ). Among other things, he was involved in the writing of the oldest öttingischen fief book. 1455 and 1458 by writer notes in Blenheim detectable, he settled at the latest in 1466 in Augsburg, where he - presumably in modest circumstances - lived as a professional writer.

During the same time the Augsburg letterpress conquered the literary market, it went Boll Statter not mass produced, but to literature for connoisseurs and lovers. So far, been determined by his hand 15 vernacular, partly illustrated manuscripts. Particular importance has Bollstatters productive use of his originals, which he edited and treated almost philological.

Boll Statter describes himself as an author of a short poem by the daughters of the devil. He probably has the translation of the Chronicle of Burchards Ursberg, which is obtained in a subsequent Dresden manuscript written.
