Konrad Seitz

Konrad Seitz ( born January 18, 1934 in Munich) is a German diplomat and author.

Life

Konrad Seitz studied after graduating from the High School Benedictine Ettal Classical Philology, Philosophy, History and German. He graduated in 1956 teaching certificate, and was founded in 1958 at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich with a thesis on the Annals of Tacitus Dr. phil. doctorate and taught classical philology at the universities of Munich and Marburg. In 1965, he joined the Foreign Office, the Seitz sent to study at the American Fletcher School of Harvard University, where he graduated in 1967 with an MA in International Economics and International Law. He was from 1975 to 1987 speechwriter West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher. In 1980 he became head of the Policy Planning Staff in the Federal Foreign Office.

Konrad Seitz was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in India ( 1987-1990). After brief use as head of the Policy Planning Staff of the Foreign Office, he was Ambassador to Italy (1992-1995) and China ( 1995-1999).

He is the author of several books such as " The Japanese- American Challenge " (1990), "race into the 21st Century" (1998 ) and together with Peter goggle and Rita Süssmuth " The haphazard elites. Germans miss the future? ". His book " China. A world power returns. "Made it into a top-10 list of important business books of the financial information service Bloomberg.
