Konstancin-Jeziorna

Konstancin- Jeziorna is a town and summer resort in Poland in Masovian Voivodeship. It is the seat of city and rural community in the powiat Piaseczyński.

Geographical location

Three kilometers east of the city runs the Vistula, the river runs through the city Jeziorka. A pine forest surrounding the place. Konstancin- Jeziorna borders the south-east of Warsaw and the Eastern Piasecznos. Neighboring towns are still Karczew about five miles to the east on the opposite bank of the Vistula River and about 13 kilometers south Góra Kalwaria.

History

The city Konstancin- Jeziorna was formed from the formerly independent towns and Jeziorna Konstancin- Skolimów.

The town developed on a trade route to Warsaw. Probably the oldest settlement that is part of the city today is Cieciszew in which there was a parish in the 13th century. The community was used in 1660 by the surrounding villages such as Slomczyn, Łyczyn, Borek, Goździe, Czernidła, Oborki, Obory, Grąd, Chabdzin, Chabdzinek, Kolo, Kłyczyn, Cijcza, Opacz, lek, Jemielin and Gassy. In the 1680s the palace was built in Obory, its present shape was part of the building after a renovation in 1893.

End of the 18th century a paper mill was built in Jeziorna, the first of Mazovia and one of the first in Poland. It was built at the Jeziorka; now here is the shopping center Stara Papiernia. Since the mid 19th century, the Warszawskie Zakłady Papiernicze is produced in a modern paper mill.

Konstancina was not founded until 1897. It was built by the Count Witold Skórzewski and Władysław Mielżyński a summer resort for the citizens of Warsaw, after a cousin of the two counts, Maria Oginska, born Skórzewska, the corresponding land acquired by the owner of the rule Obory, Maria Potulicka. The used grounds north of the river Jeziorka soon reached an area of ​​about 3300 m². During the Third Partition of Poland and Konstancin Jeziorna part of Russia were. With the formation of the Duchy of Warsaw in 1807, the two were the same place part and 1815 part of Congress Poland.
