Konstantin Buga

Konstantin Buga ( born June 17, 1985 in Atbasar, Kazakh SSR ) is a German amateur boxer and in 2005 was German champion in the welterweight division.

Career

With eleven years, the native Kazakh began in his home with the boxes of 2002 he came to Germany and was naturalized. The 182 cm middleweights starts for the Berlin club NSF Neukölln. He was twice German Junior Champion, 2005 German welterweight champion and 2006 in the middleweight division. He trains in the sports promotion group Bruchsal.

In the amateur world championships in 2007 in Chicago he succeeded as one of only two German party ( next to Jack Culcay - Keth ) direct qualification for the Olympic Games. He won among others against the local heroes Shawn Estrada defeated by surprise Second Alfonso Blanco from Venezuela. In the Olympic boxing tournament in Beijing, he then lost however in the first round of the tournament against the Ecuadorian Carlos Gongora with 7-14 points.

Buga achieved in the boxing world in 2009 in September 2009 after a surprising victory over the favored Cubans Rey Eduardo Recio (10-9 points) the quarter-finals, where he eventually lost to the Uzbeks Abbo Atoyev with 3-4 points.
