Konstantin Loktev

Konstantin Borisovich Loktew (Russian Константин Борисович Локтев; born June 16, 1933, Moscow, Russian SFSR, † November 4, 1996 ) was a Russian ice hockey player and coach.

Career

His career began in 1952 with his hometown club HK Spartak Moscow, for which he was active in the youth level before after one season and another at ODO Leningrad he came 1954 to the former champion club CSKA Moscow and stayed there until the end of his career in 1967. With CSKA Moscow he won ten times the Soviet league titles and played in a row with Alexander Almetow and Veniamin Alexandrov. This series scored 213 goals in 340 league games. During this time he was also a member of the Soviet national ice hockey team, with whom he won eight World Ice Hockey Championships three gold medals ( 1964, 1965, 1966), three silver medals (1957, 1958, 1959) and two bronze medals (1960, 1961). In his first World Cup in 1957, he scored nine goals.

In addition, he participated in two Olympic Games and won the gold medal once (1964) and a bronze medal in 1960. He was then ( and the entire team ) 1964 awarded the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. In his role as assistant to the head coach of the Sbornaja he took in 1975 at the World Cup and 1976 at the Winter Games in Innsbruck in part.

In the years 1975-1977 Loktew returned as coach for CSKA and won two more championship titles. 2007 Loktew was honored for his achievements with induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
