Konstantin Shamray

Konstantin Schamrai (Russian Константин Шамрай; born 27 May 1985 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian pianist.

Life

Schamrai studied at the Music School No.1 in Kemerovo with Natalia Knobloch, from 1996 at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow and since 2003 until now the government Gnessins Institute Moscow, beginning with Tatjana Selikman and currently (2011) with Vladimir Tropp.

He was a fellow of several international foundations - including The New Names, Vladimir Spivakov International Foundation, The Performing Art Foundation and the Glazunov Foundation in Munich - and has already passed numerous concerts in Russia, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, Australia, Singapore, the U.S. and China. He performed it with internationally recognized orchestras such as the Prague Philharmonic and the Moscow Philharmonic. Meanwhile, he also produced several CDs.

Already ten years old he won the third prize at the Young Pianists Competition in Senigallia. In recent years, he won first and second prizes such as the Sydney International Piano Competition in 2008, where he won the first price in all eight divisions in several international competitions. After his stunning victory in Sydney he gave 27 concerts in all states of Australia, in 2009, followed by another 14 concerts, in 2010 another 30 concerts in Australia and Singapore. From now on, followed by more concerts in Europe, as well as the Ruhr Piano Festival. In October 2011 he took first place at the Kissinger Piano Olympus.

Schamrai is a member of the Moscow Wagner Society.
