Konstantinos Tsatsos

Konstantinos Tsatsos (Greek Κωνσταντίνος Τσάτσος Konstantinos Tsatos, born July 1, 1899 in Athens, † October 8, 1987 ) was a Greek lawyer and politician.

Tsatsos studied from 1915 to 1918 law in Athens and was then cryptographer in the Greek embassy in Paris. From 1925 to 1928 he studied philosophy in Heidelberg among others, Heinrich Rickert and Karl Jaspers. In 1930 he became a professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In the same year he married Ioanna Seferiadis, the sister of Giorgos Seferis. From 1932 he taught philosophy of law. In 1935, he founded his own party. In 1938 he was arrested by the dictatorship of Ioannis Metaxas ' and exiled to the beginning of the Italian- Greek war on the islands of Skyros and Spetses. Then Tsatsos was repeated minister in various Greek governments. In 1966 he was president of the Academy of Athens and from 1975 to 1980 President of Greece.
