Geography

Geographical Location

Konzell is located in the Donau-Wald. It is situated in the Bavarian Forest. In Konzell stems from the Bach Menach and flows through the Menachtal direction arc.

History

Konzell belonged to Rentamt Straubing and the district court Mitterfels of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. In 1927 Auggenbach was incorporated. The district has thought cell in 1995 as national winners of the competition "Our village is beautiful " won as the " Most Beautiful Village in Germany."

Incorporations

On 1 January 1977 parts of the territory of the dissolved municipality Landorf were incorporated. On May 1, 1978, added Gossersdorf.

Population Development

Policy

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 980,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 391,000.

On 15 November 2001 the 2nd Mayor Karl -Heinz lard was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

Culture and sights

The parish church of St. Martin was built in 1740 on the basis of a gothic previous building. The year 1832 brought an increase of the choir and the construction of a new vestry on the north side. This was removed in a renovation in the years 1975 to 1977 and replaced by a new vestry on the southwest side. The church contains a baptismal font from the 13th century. The small altar was built in the rococo style in the mid-18th century, the side altars are works of the late Renaissance to in 1650.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of agriculture and forestry five, 507 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 51 persons work at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 49 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 559 in the manufacturing sector, there were none, in the construction of five plants.
